Washington, DC — February 13, 2026

Propagating Play™, a science communication media project from Hortiki Plants, gains fiscal sponsorship through Fractured Atlas, a New York based nonprofit organization that supports artists and creative projects across the United States. The designation provides nonprofit infrastructure to support grant funding and community partnerships as the multimedia initiative prepares for its Spring 2026 launch.

Created by Hortiki Plants’ founder Dr. Victoria LeBeaux, Propagating Play™ aspires to help people heal, reach their goals, and live more joyfully by incorporating more play at home and at work.

“Economic stress, social isolation, and burnout are draining people’s capacity to function, but many traditional wellness tools require focus people simply don’t have,” said Dr. LeBeaux. “Research shows that play works differently. It regulates the nervous system through brain pathways that remain accessible even when you are exhausted or overwhelmed. It’s working for me, and I am excited to share this approach more broadly.”

Acknowledging that real systemic barriers to play exist, Propagating Play™ is built with equity and access at its core, an effort fiscal sponsorship helps advance. Through its partnership with Fractured Atlas, Propagating Play can now:

  • Accept tax-deductible grants and contributions to expand programming, outreach, and evaluation.
  • Build partnerships with schools, universities, and community organizations.
  • Leverage these resource pathways to develop free community-facing resources.

“My vision for Propagating Play is to help change the cultural standard,” said Dr. LeBeaux. “By validating play as a biological requirement for health and well-being, we aim to create a ripple effect. We want to see play move from ‘luxury’ to ‘standard of care,’ enabling investment in the infrastructure and systems that fuel healing, resilience, and growth for all communities.”

Infographic titled “Play as Resilience: Navigating the Polycrisis.” The top section describes the problem as a wellness gap caused by economic instability and social unrest, illustrated by a stressed person carrying tangled burdens. The solution is presented as “Play as an Intervention.” The lower section shows a glowing brain labeled “Physiological Brain Rewiring,” explaining that play helps reset the nervous system. Additional illustrations highlight equity and access, including a plant growing from soil labeled “From Luxury to Human Right,” and icons for quick reset, connection, and micro-play, emphasizing accessible, science-backed tools that fit into daily life.

Propagating Play’s media suite will include video and podcast programming, short-form animated science explainers, visual storytelling, and curriculum-based toolkits. A combination that applies evidence-based public health communication strategies to support measurable behavior change at scale.

Propagating Play™ welcomes conversations with philanthropic funders, scientific and clinical experts, and creative media professionals interested in contributing to the project’s development ahead of its Spring 2026 launch. Learn more at propagatingplay.com
