Washington, DC — January 26, 2026 — Hortiki, the award-winning sustainable education company founded in 2017, is expanding its mission of helping people grow with the launch of Hortiki Studios, a science communication media initiative, and the formalization of its business training work under the new Hortiki Training Institute. The expansion builds on the company's nearly nine-year track record of making sustainable growth accessible to families, educators, and communities.
Founded by Dr. Victoria LeBeaux, a PhD agroecologist and former USDA National Program Leader, Hortiki began as Hortiki Plants, providing eco-friendly garden kits that make growing nutritious food simple and fun. Now, the company is extending that same commitment to accessible, science-backed resources into wellness and professional development.
"For almost nine years, we've been helping families grow—literally—through gardening," said Dr. LeBeaux. "But the same principles that help plants thrive—patience, restoration, sustainable growth—apply to our own wellbeing and our careers. Hortiki is expanding to serve people at every stage of their growth journey."
Growing in New Directions
Hortiki Plants continues to provide STEM.org authenticated garden kits for children ages 6–11, serving families, educators, and youth organizations with sustainable, hands-on learning tools. The company's unique garden kits have been featured by Good Morning America, Oprah Daily, Marie Claire, and Good Housekeeping, and distributed nationally through Target.
Hortiki Studios, the company's science communication media initiative, launches with Propagating Play™, a multimedia project translating neuroscience research on play and nervous system regulation into accessible wellness tools. The project launches in this Spring, with plans for video content, illustrated resources, and live events.
"Traditional wellness advice assumes you have unlimited time and resources," said Dr. LeBeaux. "Propagating Play serves communities facing real barriers—time poverty, systemic inequity, limited access. We're proving that play isn't a luxury; it's infrastructure for your nervous system."
Hortiki Training Institute formalizes Dr. LeBeaux's existing speaking and coaching work, bringing it under one strategic umbrella. The institute offers keynote speaking, corporate workshops, and global business coaching, including The Grow Your Business Project™, which provides free workshop kits to small business support organizations and hosts global summits with regionally relevant expert speakers.
"I've been speaking and coaching entrepreneurs for years, but now we're scaling this work intentionally," said Dr. LeBeaux, who serves as a Verizon Small Business Digital Ready Advocate. "The Institute is about creating sustainable, purpose-driven businesses —and building a global community of entrepreneurs who share knowledge across borders."
A Legacy of Impact
The expansion comes as Hortiki approaches its ninth anniversary in April 2026. The company has maintained its commitment to social impact through its HORTIKI LOVES GIVING program, which donates 5% of profits to organizations helping people and communities grow.
As a certified Black-owned and woman-owned business, Hortiki continues to model the values it teaches: sustainable growth, community investment, and accessible resources for all.
"We started in a garden, teaching families how to grow plants," said Dr. LeBeaux. "Now we're helping people grow in every area of their lives—their wellbeing, their careers, their businesses. I'm excited for all the ways Hortiki will continue to expand and help our community grow and thrive!"
