- Carrots were first domesticated in Persia in the 10th century and were commonly white and yellow and a mix of shapes. This Scarlet Nantes carrot variety is a sweet and tender red-orange.  High in beta carotene, fiber, vitamin K1, and potassium, these carrots will be a fun and unique addition to spring and fall gardens.
