Everything living, from you to a carrot to a giant tree, is made up of tiny building blocks called cells. These cells are so small we can't see them without a microscope, but they're super important!
In our STEAM cards we explore why carrots grow the way they do – why they're usually long and thin, and how they can even change shape, and we learn it's all about cells. This video, "Cells for Kids," will take you on an exciting adventure into the world of cells to learn even more.
In the video, you'll:
- Find out what the different parts of a cell are, like the nucleus, cytoplasm, and cell membrane.
- See the differences between animal cells (like the ones that make up you!) and plant cells (like the ones that make up a carrot!). You'll even learn about special plant cell parts like chloroplasts and the cell wall.
By the end of the video, you'll be able to explain what a cell is, tell the difference between plant and animal cells, and point out the basic parts of a cell. This will help you understand how carrots grow and how their cells determine their shape!"
